CELT Course Design Tutorial

Welcome to the CELT Course Design Tutorial!

Welcome! The Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) created this tutorial to guide you through the process of designing a new course or revising an existing course with a lens of inclusive, learner-centered teaching. This tutorial aims to model design features and tools you may wish to include in your own course. It will also provide you with the opportunity to experience the perspective of being a student in an online "course." Thus, you are invited to reflect on your own experience as a student along the way.

You can start at the beginning and work your way through each of the modules or jump directly to topics that most interest you. Modules include activities that simulate the student experience and offer ideas for tools and techniques you can adapt to your own course. There are also assignments that allow you to apply concepts and ideas directly to your own course. To access all materials, you must first 'join' the tutorial course following the link that appears on the top right when you first visit it.

Tutorial Goal

After participating in this tutorial, participants will be able to use course design principles to design a new course or revise an existing course with an inclusive, learner-centered lens.
